It may be because moose tend to be a bit cantankerous around household pets! Whenever we saw a moose back home (in rural Alaska) it was "Make sure the dogs and cats are inside!" They tend to like to trample them. He seems quite interested in the kitty in the picture, though.
Amazing the moose would notice the cat. Talk about large to small; just an small smell to see what you are. What the cat thought is debatable. I love it.
That's freaking awesome! I'm not at all surprised we haven't seen more pictures like this though. Moose are definitely not known for their friendliness.
